self promotion [18 . 06 . 07]
I know, it's hideously lame. But I've started an icon community and I'd like people to know about it. So to my friends, and to any one else who may stumble upon my journal, go check out [info]aintnoother icons. There's a banner link in my profile. :)

I could never make it as a PR girl. How do they hook people? Umm, join? Please?

That'll suffice.

$15 [27 . 05 . 07]
I have just become an addicted and compulsive shopper. You would think that, at 17, I would have been honing the compulsive shopping habit for a few years now. But actually, I have only recently awakened to the fact that internet shopping is really, really blissful. No need for hair-dos or makeup if you don't intend to leave the house. No having to find a parking space, make exchanges with store clerks, and then fumble your change and receipts around in your disorganized wallet. The internet makes anything you could possibly want so readily accessible, how can one refuse its wares?

Fortunately, I like to bargain shop. I want to show you my latest purchases, even if you don't care. Here are two equally great ways to spend fifteen bucks.

1)
On (almost) anything from 15dollarstore.com. Do not be alarmed when you first enter the site and are greeted by a rather disagreeable fusca color. I find their sweaters and dresses to be irresistible, for the most part! But the best thing is, it is all cheap, cheap, cheap. Everything is fifteen dollars exactly. Check out this KERSH striped knit cardigan sweater that I bought. It's great quality, and I intend to wear it with a pair of little black leggings and flats. So there, positive feedback for the 15 dollar store!

2)
Books are pricey! As a huge fan of reading (reading chick lit, to be exact), I am prone to consuming books quickly, and always needing another. But a single paperback can cost you exactly fifteen dollars these days, and forget hardcovers! Soo, brilliantly, I decided to shop amazon.com for used books. Ding ding ding! Books 1, 2, and 3 cost upwards from $.55 or a TOTAL of $15! Granted, the four dollar flat shipping rate is a bit exorbitant in comparison to the book prices, I'm not complaining. I will fork up 12 dollars shipping if it means three books for the price of one! If you're confused, the 12 bucks shipping fee is because each of the books came from different places. FYI, they were all in top condition, and I've already devoured #3 - I loved it!

Oh, and to cap off the post. The loot I got this weekend included two blue ribbons, two yellow, and one white. That would be horse show loot, and if you want to be technical, it means that I won two classes, got third in two more, and fourth in another. I haven't explained it yet, but I show horses. I spent my weekend at a competition, had a wonderful time, and that's all I have to say about that. (:
